Chairman

Professor Natan Bornstein is a professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, a specialist in neurology and cerebrovascular disease, and a graduate of the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion. He founded and heads the Neurological Department at the Shaare Zedek Medical Center. He is the current chair of the Israeli Stroke Society. He previously served as chair of the Israeli Neurological Association, chair of the Israel National Stroke Council, head of the Neurology Division at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and vice president of the World Stroke Organization.
Board Members

Ms. Sandra Levy is a certified social worker. After her husband suffered a stroke, she was disappointed by the lack of services in the community to support the families of stroke victims and became one of the founders of Neeman. Before her retirement, Ms. Levy was the coordinator of the Health Care Division of the School of Social Work at the University of Haifa. She is the former vice president of the Stroke Alliance for Europe (SAFE) and a board member at the World Stroke Organization. She served as secretary of the committees that support stroke organizations at the World Stroke Organization.

Ms. Riva Barkan studied accounting at the College of Management Academic Studies and worked as a teacher at Leo Baeck High School in Haifa and at the WIZO Haifa Academy of Design and Education. Before retirement, she was the financial manager of a family business, “Everything for the Beach.” She has been volunteering at Neeman since 2000 and served as the treasurer from 2003-2009. Her husband experienced a stroke in 1999.
Management
CEO

Ms. Pnina Rosenzweig has been the CEO of Neeman since 2004. She is a graduate of the School of Social Work at Tel Aviv University. She earned a master’s degree in women’s studies from Lesley College. Ms. Rosenzweig gained many years of experience working in HR management and community relations at Intel Israel. She also has experience in community project management and social work. She is a public representative at the National Rehabilitation Council and the National Health Council. She is also chair of the Reform Committee at the National Health Council. Ms. Rosenzweig served as a board member of the Stroke Alliance for Europe (SAFE) for eight years.
Secretary and Treasurer

Mr. Eitan Yaron is a partner who initiated Neeman’s national activities and who volunteers at the organization. His wife Raya experienced a stroke in 2001.
Project Manager
Efrat Yaron is Neeman’s administrative coordinator and coordinator of special projects. She guides and supports Neeman’s social clubs around the country.
In Loving Memory
The late Lili Maor, president and founder of Neeman. Her ear was always attuned to the suffering of others, and her willingness to support and help knew no bounds.
The late Shlomo Dalmai, the visionary who initiated Neeman’s nationwide expansion and the establishment of a rehabilitative social club in collaboration with the Reuth TLV Rehabilitation Hospital, which became the foundation for Neeman’s continued development.
The late Izi Saruk, member of Kibbutz Revivim. Despite his stroke, he found the strength to establish a chapter of Neeman in Beer Sheva to serve southern Israel.
The late Shula Rosenzweig, who ran Neeman’s information and support hotline for many years, offering support to thousands of patients and their families. She founded and ran Neeman’s social club in Eilat.
Advisory Board
Dr. Avraham Lazari formerly served as a physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist at Maccabi, deputy director of the Reuth TLV Rehabilitation Hospital, and director of the hospital’s head injuries rehabilitation ward.
Professor David Tanne is a professor of neurology, directs the Stroke and Cognition Institute at Rambam Health Care Campus, and is chair of the Israeli Neurological Association.
Dr. Yitzhak Berlowitz is a pediatrics specialist who formerly served as director of the Wolfson University Medical Center and deputy director general of the Ministry of Health.
Dr. Iuly Treger is director of the Rehabilitation Medicine Department at Soroka Medical Center. He is the attending physician in the stroke rehabilitation ward. In the past he served as deputy director of Loewenstein Hospital.
Dr. Yitzhak Ziv-Ner is director of the Ministry of Health’s Rehabilitation Division and previously directed the orthopedic rehabilitation center at Sheba Medical Center.
Professor Mordechai Shani served two terms as director general of the Ministry of Health and is director of the Sheba Medical Center. He is a co-founder and the first director of the Israel National Institute For Health Policy Research, which operates at Tel HaShomer. He received the Israel Prize for his special contribution to society and state in 2009.
Professor Michael Glikson directs the cardiology unit at Shaare Zedek Medical Center. He is the president of the Israel Heart Society.
Professor Rachel Dankner stands at the head of the R&D Institute at the Reuth TLV Rehabilitation Hospital. She is a senior researcher at the Gertner Institute of Epidemiology and Health Policy Research and a faculty member at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University.
Professor Ronni Gamzu formerly served as the director general of the Ministry of Health. He is CEO of the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and an associate professor at Tel Aviv University.
Professor Shlomo Vinker is a family physician and VP of medicine at Leumit. He served as chair of the Israel Association of Family Physicians.
